Book Launch

C M Strawn 6/12/2023

I am finally ready to relaunch my first novel soon. It’s a science fiction fantasy about Josh, who gets dumped by his girlfriend, Aryn, during the dinner date he planned to propose. After that, an attempt is made on his life during a neighborhood football game. His best friend, Jason, who is not from around here, kidnaps him to protect Josh from the enemies he doesn’t know he has.

Josh finds himself inside the hollow earth, where he discovers a modern civilization called Inner World at war with Under World. Under World is bent on destroying Inner World, which is standing in the way of their plans of enslaving the planet.

Early on, after he arrives in Inner World, Josh meets Samarrea. He feels an instant attraction for this beautiful Inner Worlder, but because he is conflicted over Aryn, Josh is in emotional turmoil. He soon learns he has the gift of seeing into the future, but his emotional conflict interferes with his ability at critical moments.

After deciding to join Inner World in their struggle against Under World, he must learn many skills quickly, especially martial arts. But with the help of a geeky inventor, he is given a technological boost.

This is the first book of a series I plan to launch at regular intervals.

Writing this book has been an eye-opening experience and an exciting adventure. After several missteps and false starts during my learning curve, I am ready to launch this first book for the second time.

I was in a froth to publish the first time before I had done quality revisions and editing. As a result, I was embarrassed at the inferior quality the world could see. It felt like being paraded around the town square naked.

I unpublished the atrocity and set about doing the revising and editing that I should have done in the first place. Since I am operating on a shoestring, I didn’t have the resources to hire a professional editor, so I used Grammarly to help me self-edit.

Another discovery was artificial intelligence. Nova Leigh wrote a short book titled Chat GPT for Fiction Writing, which I found extremely useful. (I have no affiliation with either Grammarly or Nova Leigh.) Artificial intelligence doesn’t write for you; it presents ideas you can accept, work with, or reject. At the very least, AI can dislodge a jam if you are blocked.

I offer no promises of perfection, but I hope this book will be a fun read.

Conspiracy of the Under World by C M Strawn ©2023, WordHighway Publishing, will soon launch on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) in eBook and paperback. I will keep prices as low as possible within KDP parameters.

    • Thank you so much. It is a tremdous amount of work, but I am having fun. I’ve worked hard all my life and this new endeavor does not disappoint. I’ll post when the book goes live. Thanks again for the encouragement.
