I created a manual for my writing business using Chat GPT40, Super Grok, and Copilot. I have purchased subscriptions to ChatGPT40 and Super Grok. Copilot is available with Microsoft Word, which I use for all my writing. Their results are amazing. I asked all three the same prompt and received similar but profoundly different results.
The responses were thoughtful and included information that will help me produce great websites, blog posts, and writing.
Suggestions from all three language models drew my attention to my previous work experience and connected it with the most popular genre. I included my preference for writing science fiction and fantasy, and the language models suggested Romantsy (romance plus fantasy) as a popular genre, including sci-fi thrillers. (No one does thrillers like Stephen King.) I haven’t read his work because I’m not a fan of that genre. I like action-adventure stories with a strong lead—either male or female.
I asked these LMs for help with building an author’s website. Each offered focused insights and suggestions for setting up this website. I found ChatGPT40 easier to understand, with excellent suggestions and examples. Super Grok was more technical, assuming I had more skill and knowledge of website development than I actually do.
I started a blog in 2019. I’ve posted there occasionally, but I haven’t made it much better than a bulletin board where I sometimes post. It’s simple and lacks visual appeal, so it doesn’t get much attention. Still, some brave web surfers have found it, which I appreciate. (I should post more.)
Of the three LMs, I prefer ChatGPT40 for a more human-like experience. Super Grok feels more like a postgraduate with advanced degrees who expects me to keep up when I don’t breathe the same air. I’m not stupid, but I prefer information on the lower shelf, where it is easy to access and understand. That is what ChatGPT40 is like. I enjoy its responses. It’s warmer without the sharp edges.
Copilot, which comes with Microsoft Word, gave a generic response. I believed that my life experiences were meaningful and could provide value to readers who might benefit from my background. This language model offered little guidance beyond suggesting I write a blog, book, or short story and self-publish on platforms like Amazon KDP, Draft2Digital, and Smashwords. It offered very little help with the details I need to build a successful writing business.
The Copilot LM gave a broad overview of starting a writing business related to my work experience. ChatGPT40 and Super Grok both provided detailed instructions and suggested topics to write about, and they offered to outline or draft articles for me.
Large Language Models are valuable tools I will include in my arsenal as I pursue profitability in writing. I might also mention that I use Grammarly to edit all of my work. It would be unforgivable to subject readers to the horrors of my first drafts. You’re welcome.
