Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…”
I should not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.
How many times have I shrunk back from speaking Jesus into a conversation when the opportunity presented itself?
(Opportunities do not present themselves. The Holy Spirit, third member of the Godhead, has made the opportunity available.)
There should be no fear when speaking Jesus into a conversation. When the impression to speak Jesus arises, it is the Holy Spirit guiding the believer. The words which we speak are not ours, but those of Jesus as given to the Holy Spirit, Who then gives them to the believer.
There should be no fear when speaking Jesus because the unlimited power of God is in the name of Jesus. God, the Father, has given all power and authority to Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.
There should be no shame, but joy unspeakable and full of glory in the name of Jesus, God’s power of salvation.
When speaking Jesus, the believer is given the incomparable privilege of presenting the opportunity for forgiveness of sins and eternal life to a sinner condemned to hell. Only in Jesus Christ is there salvation.
There should be no shame, nor fear in the name of Jesus. Jesus has overcome the power of darkness and broken the power of hell.
In Jesus there is peace in this life and pleasures forevermore in heaven. Without Jesus there are trials, tribulation with pain and torment forevermore.
When the Holy Spirit provides the opportunity, speak Jesus. As believers, this is our reasonable service and privilege.
